Quick Hitter: GSAR Part 510

Just as with my Quick Hitter series on the FAR, my Quick Hitter series on the GSAR is meant to simplify contracting business with the government. This time with GSA.

GSAR Part 510 Market Research

This portion of the GSAR is pretty much there to give authority, and credence to that authority, to agencies in their own contracting endeavors. I don’t think it truly adds much to MR specific to GSA.

It essentially reminds the reader to check the order of the procurement list and to go green when you can.

The exception is cyber security. MR is forwarded to the CISO in the potential event confidentiality, integrity or availability compromises agency information and productivity for any length of time for the benefit of an outside entity..

Your CO will conduct MR to benefit their negotiation stance. When I was a CO, I always reminded vendors that they were the SME and if they would be willing to share theirs then I would be less likely to make a mistake during mine.

MR is something I am very well versed in and comes free with the price of your project. That’s nearly ten (10) years while exiting to consulting at a GS-13 level.
